A traditional Chinese dowry box and a very unusual sentimental object are among the transformations by the skilled team of remakers.
Loved-but-unused treasures are transformed into contemporary and useful items by a team of expert crafters. Sabrina Grant hosts as the owners part with their possessions, returning later to see what they have become.
Xinhua arrives at the workshop with a Chinese dowry box, which she now uses to keep her make-up. Traditionally, a bride would arrive at her marital home with a dowry box containing money or gifts. Xinhua鈥檚 mum had it when she got married and then passed it to Xinhua for her wedding. Xinhua鈥檚 three daughters love playing with the little doors and drawers, and Xinhua would love it to be transformed into something special for them. Carpentry expert Shelley and metal specialist John offer radically different designs to choose from.
Leather expert Jason gets the chance to show off his handcrafting skills when Ed brings in an old family tent. It brings back lots of memories of camping holidays in France with his parents and brother, which is why he has held onto it for so long. But it has been gathering dust for nearly thirty years, and Ed does not know what to do with it. Jason comes up with the perfect idea that will keep the memories alive while transforming the tent into something completely different.
Finally, woodwork wonderwoman Daisy is set the challenge of transforming a single bowling pin. It belongs to Lara, who went to a bowling alley for her sixth birthday. Her dad had passed away just weeks before, and so the staff made Lara鈥檚 visit extra special by giving her the memento. Daisy has a plan to transform the bowling pin into a tribute to Lara鈥檚 dad that she can enjoy and pass down to her son.
