Jo chats to Tracey Thorn about her new book, My Rock 鈥檔鈥� Roll Friend.

Tracey is a singer-songwriter and writer, best known for her seventeen years in bestselling duo Everything But The Girl and for her bestselling memoirs Another Planet and Bedsit Disco Queen. My Rock 鈥檔鈥� Roll Friend is an examination of her thirty-seven years of friendship with The Go-Betweens legend Lindy Morrison, and the joys and struggles of being a woman in a band within the male-dominated music industry. It also explores how women are perceived and often written out of history by men, and the importance of writing them back in.

As with her last book, the Sunday Times bestseller Another Planet, Tracey uses extracts from her diaries and letters in order to tease out details of the connection and affection between Lindy and herself 鈥� showing the power of female friendship between two women who seem to be both complete opposites and mirror images of each other.
