Penny Gore presents the Bavarian Radio SO in concert with Simon Rattle and Gustavo Dudamel in Messiaen, Schumann, Latin American choral music, plus Igor Levit plays Beethoven. In the first programme of this series Levit played Beethoven's Second Piano Concerto; today you can hear in the First Piano Concerto, which was actually written after the so-called Second. The series ends with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and their Chief Conductor-designate Simon Rattle in Messiaen's commemorative masterpiece for wind and percussion, whose title means "And I await the resurrection of the dead".
