Episode 6
A much-loved childhood bike and a wartime Royal Navy kit bag are among the items transformed by the skilled team of crafters into new and useful items for their owners.
Sabrina Grant and a team of skilful master crafters welcome owners and their possessions into the workshop, ready to transform the items and give them a new lease of life.
Jesse took longer to learn how to ride a bike when he was young, due to a condition that affected his balance, so a bike from his youth has special meaning to him. He can’t bear to let it go, but it’s just taking up space now that he’s outgrown it. Interior designer Shelley and metalsmith Leigh offer Jesse the choice of very radical transformations.
Paul brings in an old hi-fi that belonged to his parents. It no longer works, but he has fond memories of them dancing to records when he was growing up. Woodworker extraordinaire Daisy has an idea to transform it – but her challenge is to retain some of the record player’s distinguishing features.
And expert seamstress Elizabeth takes on the challenge of transforming a wartime Royal Navy kit bag once belonging to Andrea’s father. It has no purpose for her, but it’s a precious connection to her dad and the stories he once told. Can Elizabeth create something new that is useful but still reminds Andrea of her dad?
