Alice crosses a line and Lee is a model son-in-law.

Helen has to drag Lee away from Tony and his model railway. Later, Lee brings Tony a coffee and quizzes him some more. He’s envious of the escapism the hobby affords. Tony lets Lee have a go with the controls, and Lee reveals his superhero collection probably developed from childhood gifts from his much absent dad. Tony gets it; this model railway started with the discovery of The Flying Scotsman that had been John’s. Helen interrupts them, wondering where Lee has got to. She’s pleased he and her dad have been having fun.

Alice assures Susan again that the christening arrangements are all in hand. When Susan hears that Chris will be looking after Martha this evening while Alice is out, she jumps at the chance of putting them both up for the night.

Harrison gets a call from Alice. She’s drunk in her car, but stationary. Harrison tells her not to move; he’s coming to find her. When he finds her she’s inconsolable – she’s never going to stop drinking, she’s not worth it, why would Chris want to come back from his parents to her? Harrison tries to snap Alice out of it but she only gets worse – she doesn’t want to be sober, the christening is all fake, it’s only a matter of time before Martha is taken away from her. Harrison impresses on Alice that so many people care about her, including himself. As he leans over to do up her seatbelt, she tries to kiss him.
