Comedian Julia Davis and actor-director Mercedes Grower chat to Mark and Stuart about the music they have written together.
Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast
Today’s guests are comedian Julia Davis and actor-director Mercedes Grower. Julia began her screen career in television sketch show 'Big Train', has starred in TV comedies including 'Gavin & Stacey' and 'I'm Alan Partridge' and films including 'Love Actually' as well as writing and starring in the acclaimed ´óÏó´«Ã½ dark comedy series 'Nighty Night.' Mercedes Grower has had several film and television acting roles including Guy Ritchie's Revolver and made her directing debut with the dark comedy film ‘Brakes,’ which also starred Julia.
When Julia and Mercedes were guests on the Radcliffe & Maconie show back in 2018 talking about Brakes, they revealed to Stuart that they had written music for the film under the band-name Sybil. Now, as they release the song from the film as a single, they chat to Mark and Stuart about writing music together.
Also on the show... catch up on the best music and entertainment stories of the past week in ‘This Week In Music’.
Plus... regular features 'The Chain' - our world-famous list of over 8000 interconnected songs - and 'Sampled Underfoot' which explores the samples used in some of our favourite tracks.
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
