Dawn to Dusk with the Northern Sinfonia

The concert is given as part of the orchestra’s ‘New Beginnings’ season and features mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly performing Berlioz’s evocative song cycle, Les nuits d’ete. INTERVAL
The theme of tonight’s concert continues with a pianistic picture taking us from dusk back to dawn as conjured in the mind of Robert Schumann. Sviatoslav Richter performs Papillons in a classic recording made in Italy in the early 1960s.
