Live from London's Wigmore Hall, pianist Jonathan Plowright plays Bach-Busoni's Chaconne in D minor, Liszt's Consolations and Grieg's Holberg Suite.
Much-praised British pianist Jonathan Plowright opens his recital with Busoni鈥檚 formidable version of Bach鈥檚 D minor Chaconne, perhaps the most celebrated of all the arrangements of Bach's magnificent piece. The Liszt of the Consolations shows an introspective side of the composer and Grieg's Holberg Suite, his affectionate nod to Baroque dance music, ends the concert on an upbeat note.
