"I have this longing," Sean says, "to hear Joe Dolan singing Danny Boy. Would anyone like to hear it? If you ring in to ask for it then I can make it into a request and that will be my reason for playing it... I can't just play it for myself."

"What about Tar and Cement?" Cathal in Omagh says. "Give the people the choice! That's also sung by Joe Dolan."

"Well, OK," Sean says. "I've got Tar and Cement here. I wanted to hear Danny Boy... but if people want Tar and Cement I'll play it."

Then Rose in Wexford sets the cat among the pigeons. "Sean, I have a huge favour to ask. Don't play Joe Dolan singing Danny Boy. I hate him singing that song."

Bill Brown asks for Danny Boy.

Lawrence the Painter: "If you had asked could you play Tar and Cement today they would have said, 'No, you can't play Tar and Cement'. You can't please everybody! Play Danny Boy! It was my granny's party piece."

Joan in Ballyrobert, "Danny Boy, that's a request from me!"

"Please, please, please play Danny Boy," says Marjorie from Lisburn.

Sean plays it. "They'll all be leaving their houses in Wexford."
