Simon Le Bon has a World Exclusive new song from Duran Duran for Zoe. Richie Anderson continues with his Eurovision Challenge and it's The Why Workshop with the QI Elves.

Simon Le Bon, from the iconic Duran Duran, is on the show with a brand new World Exclusive for Zoe. British music icons, Duran Duran have sold over 100 million records, had 18 American hit singles, 21 UK Top 20 tunes and have continued to perform to huge concert audiences around the world since the band first formed in 1980. Singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor and drummer Roger Taylor have proven themselves timeless, always innovating and reinventing, to remain ahead of the curve. Their last album, 2015鈥檚 Paper Gods, was the band鈥檚 highest-charting release in 22 years and was hailed by critics and fans alike as their best body of work in more than two decades. Produced by Mark Ronson and Nile Rodgers, alongside Mr Hudson and Josh Blair, the record features collaborations with Janelle Mon谩e and John Frusciante. A global, three year, sold-out arena tour followed.

Richie Anderson continues with his Eurovision Challenge to get James Newman's song 'Embers' played on as many radio stations taking part in the contest as possible.

Pause For Thought

Last week, I bid farewell to the last sunset of Ramadan, and as the curtain lowered over a month of fasting, I plunged gob-first into a day of feasting better known as Eid. This year, instead of my usual low-effort fairy cakes with jelly tots on top, I decided to stretch the baking skills with a complex three-layered Persian Love Cake. Legend has it that a woman who was head over heels for a prince, baked him this cake, and upon eating it, he fell madly in love with her.听

听

Now my attempt at a love cake prompted me to rename it 鈥業 Like You as A Friend鈥� cake, as it didn鈥檛 quite look like the picture in the recipe book with its perfectly shaped mascarpone minarets 鈥� as mine looked like poop emojis that someone accidentally trod on. As with so many things in my life, things didn鈥檛 go according to plan, with the reality-versus-expectation game leaving me on the losing side.听

听

Various disappointments that have eclipsed my dreams include the likes of potential suitors whose mothers were more interested in me than they were.听Or my yearning for a big work pitch to get taken up, only to be passed over by yet another editor. And after raising my hands in prayer for a loved one to recover, they鈥檝e left me lowering them in tears.听

听

Yet each disappointment has brought me a new insight. That with each crush there is a healing. With each dead end, there is a redirection. Hope is as fragile as it is powerful, and that鈥檚 where its beauty lies.听

听

As I look to the world around me, with all the pain and injustice, it can feel like the walls are caving in. But I hear the birds sing in my garden as they always do, even before they see the light of day, and they remind me to focus on the promise ahead. The medieval Persian Muslim poet, scholar and mystic, Rumi, says, 鈥淒o not stray into the neighbourhood of despair. For there are hopes: they are real, they exist. Do not go in the direction of darkness 鈥� I tell you: suns exist.鈥�

听

I鈥檒l move with those suns and also move with more optimism towards my next crack at a three layered love cake.
