Sir David Jason's Final Tracks of My Years

Sir David Jason, one of the nation's most famous, versatile and respected actors, chooses his final Tracks of My Years. There's the daily love song plus another round of PopMaster.

Sir David Jason, one of the nation's most famous, versatile and respected actors, chooses the Tracks of My Years. Born in North London, David made his debut as Del Boy in 'Only Fools And Horses' in 1981 and was still playing him up to the Christmas Special in 2002. His first big break came in the 1967 children's comedy show 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' starring alongside members of the Monty Python team: Terry Jones, Eric Idle and Michael Palin. He has won numerous awards and managed to combine his talent for comedy with more serious roles such as Jack Frost in the highly-rated detective series 'A Touch of Frost'. In the mid 1970's he appeared as Blanco, an elderly prisoner, in episodes of 'Porridge' and since 2013 has starred in 'Still Open All Hours', the sequel to 'Open All Hours', featuring many original cast members - with the late Ronnie Barker's character Arkwright appearing as a portrait.

Next Friday David will be starring alongside Stephanie Cole and Anton Lesser in 'A Cold Supper Behind Harrods'. The play, written by David Morley, will be for one night only and streamed live from the stage of the Oxford Playhouse. Fifty years after the war that first brought them together, three Special Operations Executive agents meet once again to record interviews for a television documentary investigating the murder of their colleague at the hands of the Gestapo. Inspired by real characters and events, it is only as the three former agents depart for London in a taxi for their 'cold supper' that some disturbing truths finally emerge.

The final two tracks David has chosen come from Simply Red and Keala Settle. Ken also has the daily love song plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
