Sheryl Crow, Johanna Konta and The Why Workshop
Sheryl Crow chats to Zoe about her live stream concert from her home in Nashville. And Zoe talks to British No. 1 Tennis player Johanna Konta. Plus it's the Why Workshop.
Sheryl Crow, the multi-million selling US singer-songwriter, tells Zoe about her live stream concert from her home in Nashville. Sheryl Crow: The Songs and The Stories - A Live Solo Performance, is a one-off 90 minute global live stream. It will be filmed in her 鈥渓ittle church鈥 鈥 a private, meditative space on her Nashville property that she has filled with antique Americana curiosities. She will be moving between instruments, performing her songs in new ways. Sheryl has won 9 Grammy Wards, sold over 50 million albums worldwide and she plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, piano, harmonica and accordion. She was also a recording backing vocalist for Stevie Wonder, Belinda Carlisle, Jimmy Buffett and Don Henley.
Johanna Konta is Britain's no.1 female tennis player. She reached the semi- finals of the Australian Open in 2016, the semi-finals of Wimbledon in 2017 and the semi-finals of Roland Garros in 2019. Johanna has won four singles titles on the Women鈥檚 Tennis Association (WTA) tour - most recently at the Nottingham Open. In 2016, she became part of Team GB at the Rio Olympics.
It鈥檚 The Why Workshop, and Zoe quizzes the QI Elves with more wonders and ponders, including your questions.

Pause For Thought
I had a profound thought once!听听OK, maybe it wasn鈥檛 all that profound, but it was a thought 鈥 I did have a thought. I鈥檒l tell you it, you can decide if it鈥檚 worthwhile鈥
听
I lived in a flat once that overlooked a river. One day I was watching leaves floating past my window before I went to bed, and when I woke up I noted that there were still leaves floating past.听听Now, wait for it, here鈥檚 the thought 鈥 between going to bed and getting up, an exact number of leaves floated past my window鈥nd nobody knows that number鈥μ齏ow鈥
听
Hmm鈥aybe not that profound, but I then realised, there are lots of things that happen that I don鈥檛 know about.听听No kiddin鈥 Alan?听听I mean, for example, look inside my body 鈥 I鈥檝e got a heart that鈥檚 beating away and I never give it a thought.听听My blood makes a million red cells every second 鈥 and it never consults me about it.听听My liver鈥檚 going, squish squish and I don鈥檛 even know where it is!听
听
Tons of stuff going on, everywhere, and I don鈥檛 know anything about it.听听Reading across to my faith, I can鈥檛 figure out why I seem to think that I should know why things happen, why I think God should include me in the planning process.听听I keep complaining to God, 鈥榟ey! Why did that happen? What鈥檚 going on?听听Are you on a teabreak, God?鈥櫶齏ell, like the leaves, like my heart, why should I expect to know what鈥檚 going on.听听God is God鈥nd I鈥檓 certainly not.
听
I guess the choice for me is, do I believe that God is good and not out to get me?听听If so, then I can trust, even when I don鈥檛 understand.听听Now, I realise that鈥檚 pretty close to saying, what will be will be, and is not much different from not having a faith in a god. But whether you do or don鈥檛 have a faith, there is a lot of peace to be had in accepting that whatever comes our way, it鈥檚 not going to be changed by worrying over whether I understand it or not.听听And so, my faith just invites me to believe God is good, if inexplicable 鈥 after all, Scotland made it into the Euros鈥!
