David Baddiel looks back on Euro 96 as part of the Summer of 1996 season on Radio 2. David wrote 鈥楾hree Lions鈥� alongside Frank Skinner and Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds. David hosted Fantasy Football League alongside Frank Skinner from 1994 to 1996 on 大象传媒 Two and in 1998 and 2004 there were a couple of episodes on ITV. In its absence, Baddiel and Skinner instead went on to produce a series of podcasts for The Times, documenting their experiences while travelling across Germany at the 2006 World Cup. The success of these podcasts led to the duo being signed by Absolute Radio, to host a similar show from South Africa during the 2010 World Cup.
Zoe catches up with the Dads from our Tiny Happy People Families - an exciting project we launched at the beginning of the year with the 大象传媒's Tiny Happy People.
We鈥檙e following five different families from across the UK all of whom were expecting a baby in 2021. We've been hearing about the highs and lows of their parenting experiences and learning about how their babies are developing their speech and language skills.

Pause For Thought
Zoe, picture the scene - a bride, in her wedding dress, standing on her doorstep, veil in mum's hand, bouquet in her own, stuffing morsels of brown bread into her mouth to stop herself vomming with nerves.聽
This was me, back in 2018, waiting on a gorgeous, red vintage mustang to pick me up and drop me off at the biggest event of my life. The guests were waiting, the clock was ticking, and my perfect ride was just around the corner.聽
So - you can imagine my face when it wasn鈥檛 a mustang that pulled up, but a taxi from that well-known company that rhymes with 鈥楽cuba鈥�...聽
鈥淭axi for Rachel?!鈥�, the driver shouted - and mum and I anticlimactically clambered in. He came bearing news that the car had broken down, and these were our new wheels.聽
It gets worse.聽
The driver hadn鈥檛 clocked that I was in a wedding dress, so he wasn鈥檛 in much of a hurry. We arrived an hour late, and, to top it off, the driver ended up chasing mum into the chapel - virtually down the aisle, in fact - because we鈥檇 forgotten to pay.聽
It was a disaster.聽
But, Zoe, I have to admit - looking back, I鈥檓 grateful for my early-doors breakdown. In some ways, it was the best thing that could have happened to me.聽
As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, this screw-up from the outset helped me truly appreciate the best day of my life - not to be concerned with unimportant details, but to revel in the simple fact that I鈥檇 actually made it.聽
The past year has been a year of messed-up journeys - small businesses sent down unconventional paths; relationships off to wobbly, and remote, starts.聽
Today was set to be the day that we cruise into freedom, but now we know we鈥檒l get there a little later than expected, and probably look a bit more flustered for it.聽
As a Christian, I believe there are twists and turns in life that are beyond my control. But, crucially, I also believe each one still ultimately moves me forward - taking me closer to heaven, the best destination going.聽
It was Martin Luther King who once said, 鈥漺e must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.鈥澛�
Some of the roughest rides can take you to the best places. But as long as you arrive, that鈥檚 all that really matters.聽
