Round of 16: Wales v Denmark
Live coverage from Amsterdam of Wales v Denmark, the opening match in the round of 16. With commentary from Steve Wilson and Robbie Savage.
Gabby Logan introduces live coverage as the knockout stage of Euro 2020 gets under way, with Wales taking on Denmark in Amsterdam in the last 16.
Robert Page’s side impressed in the group stage, drawing with Switzerland and beating Turkey before losing their final game – after qualification had been secured – to Italy. Gareth Bale assisted both goals in the 2-0 win against Turkey, and though he has now gone 14 international games without scoring, he remains their biggest threat.
Denmark’s campaign has been overshadowed by the cardiac arrest suffered by Christian Eriksen in their opening game. The midfielder has now been released from hospital and will be hoping his team-mates can reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2004. The Danes booked their place in the last 16 with an emphatic – and emotional – 4-1 win against Russia.
Commentary comes from Steve Wilson and Robbie Savage.
