Britain’s Lizzie Deignan is hunting for a medal in the women’s road race while US star Katie Ledecky will be in action as the swimming heats continue on day two of the Olympics.
Deignan memorably won silver at London 2012 – Team GB’s first medal of those games – and the former world champion will be hoping to get on the podium again in Tokyo.
Ledecky is already a five-time Olympic champion and is set to be one of the stars of these Games. The 400m freestyle has been one of her favoured events but she will face a strong challenge from rising Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus, who sensationally beat her at the last World Championships. Presented by Hazel Irvine.
Key finals:
0500-0930 Cycling: women's road race
0840-0910 Archery – women's team final
