British cyclist Lizzie Deignan was competing in the women’s road race, while Adam Peaty and Katie Ledecky were among those in action in the swimming pool.

Peaty is a hot favourite to retain his title in the 100m breaststroke, while Ledecky is aiming to add to her tally of five Olympics golds amassed in London and Rio.
