The 3x3 basketball is in its first Olympic games, having previously appeared in the Youth Olympics. Full of pace and skill, this event has turned into a favourite of many. France and China start the proceedings in the women's bronze medal match. France's women are the world number one side, while the Chinese are ranked sixth.

The medals keep coming with the men's bronze medal event next up, this one between Serbia and Belgium. Serbia are ranked number one in the world, and like the French women, failed to make the gold medal match. Belgium are much lower in the rankings and will see this as a good opportunity to get a medal.

Gold medal matches begin with the US against the Russian Olympic Committee in the women's 3x3. Both sides are desperate to secure gold and become the inaugural Olympic champions of the sport, with the US having history in the bigger version of Olympic basketball.

The Russian Olympic Committee also feature in the men's gold match. The Russians are ranked sixth in the world and could be on for a double should the women also manage to get gold.

GB's Gemma Howell features in the women鈥檚 70kg round of 32 as the category contests for medals on day five plus the men's 90kg knockout rounds also get underway.
