Karen Khachanov of the Russian Olympic Committee takes on Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta in the first of the semi-finals. The Spaniard is ranked 14 places higher at 11 and leads their head-to-head 3-2, although the Russian has won on two of their three hard court meetings.
In the second match, Novak Djokovic’s quest for the Golden Slam continues. The Serb has never reached an Olympic singles final – he lost in the semi-finals in both 2008 and 2012 to Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray respectively. He faces world number five Alexander Zverev, who has yet to drop a set on his Olympic debut. Since losing to Zverev in the final of the 2018 ATP finals in London, Djokovic has won the last five meetings.
Boxing action with GB's Caroline Dubois in the women's light round of 16, Pat McCormack in the men's welter quarter-finals and Ben Whittaker in the light-heavy quarter-finals.
