Matt Lucas sits in
Matt is joined by Nick Knowles, who tells all about his new decluttering show and Stephen Mulhern has a new game show to get us hooked on. Plus Matt has his Friday Floorfillers!
Matt Lucas has a Friends Phone In Friday for you. Firstly Nick Knowles is on the programme to talk about his new decluttering show 'Nick Knowles' Big House Clear Out'. In the new series Nick helps six families reconstruct their house room by room, by repurpusing old items, ditching junk and selling off old items. Nick is no stranger to helping our families change their homes as he has hosted DIY SOS since 1999. He's also a musician and writer.
Stephen Mulhern calls Matt with details of the second series of his gameshow 'Rolling In It'. Stephen is joined by our very own Richie Anderson in this Saturday's episode. Stephen is one Britain's most loved TV presenters. Stephen started out his career in showbiz when he became the youngest member of The Magic Circle. He then went on to present 'Saturday Showdown' with Holly Willoughby.
Plus Matt has three Friday Floor Fillers to get you in the mood for the weekend after 7.30! And you take control of the Radio 2 Airwaves in Pick Your Playlist after 9am.
Along with Adam Porter on news, Richie Anderson on travel and Hugh Ferris on sport, he and the team have the best start to your morning. With celeb guests, quizzes, headlines, tunes chosen by listeners, and more music that you can shake a glitterball at!
There's also a daily Pause For Thought from Rev Richard Coles and listeners on the line, as Matt entertains the nation with fun for the family!

Pause For Thought
I remember once going to a conference abroad, the guest of a big organisation, to give a talk on inclusion for its senior management. They were concerned that they were not as well-integrated as they might be, and were looking for ways to break down a them-and-us corporate culture. Laudable aim I thought, until l got to the airport and was checked into economy while my hosts were ushered through to the First Class lounge. All are equal, only some are more equal than others.听
听
I thought of this when I saw the plane flying our Olympians back from Tokyo land at Heathrow.
听
First off were the medalists, gold, silver and bronze. Were they also boarded first, invited to turn left for the long flight home, while everyone else turned right, to be was squashed in the back eating crisps instead of caviar?听
听
Perhaps people were allocated seats by medals - gold in first, silver in business, bronze in premium - in which case thank goodness Jason and Laura Kenny both won gold, or it could have been awkward - 鈥渟ee you when we land, darling鈥︹ 鈥淗mm, maybe鈥.
听
Does it matter? The Olympics is all about being the best, so isn鈥檛 it only right and fitting that to the victor goes the spoils, the accolades, the funding, the flatbed seats?听
听
Possibly, but the Olympics is supposed to be more about the taking part than the winning (or so it was said). Everybody worked hard, everyone made sacrifices, some podiumed, but all were worthy. So shouldn鈥檛 they be treated the same?听
听
We could argue this. The disciples argued about it all the time, who was the most important among them, until Jesus said, witheringly, that the first will be last and the last will be first. I don鈥檛 think he was merely trying to rain on their parade, I think he was just reminding us that there is more to a person than their achievements, their gold medals, their A stars, their pay. 听
听
I remember someone saying to me that anyone still turning right on a plane after the age of forty was a loser. I replied anyone who says something like that at any time of life has more to worry about than where they sit on a plane.
听
Actually I didn鈥檛, because I only thought of it later, but should it happen again I鈥檒l be ready.
