Romesh Ranganathan Interview
Jamie is joined by the stand-up comedian, broadcaster and hip hop obsessive Romesh Ranganathan, to talk about his love of the music and its links with jazz
Jamie’s guest on the show this week is the comedian, broadcaster and self-confessed hip hop nerd Romesh Ranganathan!
A former battle rapper and host of the Hip Hop Saved My Life podcast, Romesh has brought his passion for the music to Radio 2 this August with a new show called ‘For The Love of Hip Hop’. The four part series is a beginner’s guide to the music, with Romesh on a mission to show that there’s something in hip hop for everyone.
Romesh talks to Jamie about the parallels between being a stand-up and a jazz musician, how hip hop was built on sampled jazz and funk records, and his musical passions—from The Roots to Charlie Parker!
