Soprano Ailish Tynan with music to stir the emotions

Soprano Ailish Tynan opens up a colourful selection of music from the inside - revealing familiar and unfamiliar works in a new light.

Soprano Ailish Tynan is used to tackling some of the biggest dramatic roles in opera and there is plenty of action in her choice of music today. She鈥檒l be playing bracing orchestral works by Mussorgsky, Handel and Messiaen, and as contrast, there鈥檒l be intimate drama in music by Judith Weir, Gabriel Faur茅 and Schumann. Plus the closing part of Puccini鈥檚 tragic La boh猫me.

Ailish also showcases two superstar singers of their day: Irish tenor John McCormack and celebrated jazz vocalist Betty Carter.

A series in which each week a musician explores a selection of music - from the inside.
