Acclaimed Serbian pianist Tamara Stefanovich joined former Messiaen prot茅g茅 Pierre-Laurent Aimard at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh in 2018. Their live performance centred around two works; Brahms鈥檚 sumptuous Sonata for Two Pianos, that would later become his Piano Quintet in F minor, followed by Messiaen鈥檚 all-encompassing Visions de l鈥橝men. Messiaen鈥檚 two piano works were written for the sparkling talent of 19-year-old Yvonne Loriod and himself to play. They gave the premiere during the German occupation of Paris in 1943 and with the composer Arthur Honegger present. He wrote that the work was 鈥榓 remarkable one, of great musical richness and of true grandeur in its conception.鈥�
