Rosie Frater-Taylor Take 5
Jamie is joined on the show this week by the singer-songwriter and guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor for a Take 5 interview.
Jamie’s guest on the show this week is the singer-songwriter and jazz guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor, who joins him for a Take 5 interview.
Rosie was brought up in London surrounded by music. With a pair of professional jazz musicians for parents, it was no surprise that she picked up drums, then bass and guitar at quite an early age, before becoming part of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and studying at the Royal Academy of Music.
Still only 21 years old, Rosie released her acclaimed second album Bloom this summer - a record which blurs jazz, folk, pop and soul - which she calls ‘a collection of pieces of my brain and my heart from the past three years’.
Rosie Frater-Taylor talks around being captivated by Kurt Elling, catching Becca Stevens in concert and the ideas behind her new music
