Ón TaobhlÃne
Blianta Órga: An Dún 1991.
The beginning of a golden era for Ulster men’s football.
CuimhnÃonn Fearghal Mag Uiginn agus a phainéal – Rian Ó Dúill, Ciara Pickering, Seán Ó Gallchóir agus Aodhán Mac Ruairà – ar Mhà Mheán Fómhair 1991 nuair a bhain foireann an Dúin Corn Sam Mhig Uidhir. B’shin an chéad uair a bhain foireann Ultach ar bith an Corn sin ó bhà na 1960aidà ann. Tá cuimhnà speisialta ag an phainéal ar shamhradh 1991: Bryan Adams de shÃor ar an raidió, Páirc Uà Chrócaigh daite leis an dubh agus an dearg, agus imreoirà ar nós McCartan, Linden, Blaney, Carr, Kane, Breen agus O’Rourke ag dul i bhfeidhm ar an phobal, nà hamháin sa Dún ach ar fud Chúige Uladh agus nÃos faide i gcéin.
Fearghal Mag Uiginn and his panel cast their minds back all of 30 years to the All-Ireland Final of September 1991, when the first Ulster team since the glory days of the 1960s captured the Sam Maguire Cup. Rian Ó Dúill, Ciara Pickering, Seán Ó Gallchóir agus Aodhán Mac Ruairà reminisce about that heady summer: Bryan Adams on repeat play, a sea of red and black in Croke Park, and history in the making with names like McCartan, Linden, Blaney, Carr, Kane, Breen and O’Rourke on everyone’s lips, not only in Down but across Ulster and further afield.
