The RPO at 75

A gala from the Royal Albert Hall, London, in which the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates both its 75th anniversary and the arrival of Vasily Petrenko as music director.

Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London

Presented by Martin Handley

Tonight the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates its 75th anniversary with a star-studded concert at the Royal Albert Hall. This very special occasion also welcomes Vasily Petrenko as the RPO鈥檚 new Music Director.

Joining Vasily Petrenko and the RPO are Sheku Kanneh-Mason, who will play Elgar鈥檚 beautiful and introspective Cello Concerto, whilst Sir Bryn Terfel will take the solo role in William Walton鈥檚 dramatic cantata, Belshazzar鈥檚 Feast, supported by the Philharmonia Chorus.
