Dial A Seancha铆, Is Ioma铆 Rud a Tharla, Manch谩n Magan

Is i 1988 a chur Comhairle Chontae an Chl谩ir sc茅im Dial A Seancha铆 ar bun, agus t谩 siad ag pilleadh ar an smaoineamh sin i mbliana le baili煤ch谩n 煤r de sheisear sc茅alaithe agus amhr谩naithe, ar f茅idir leat 茅isteacht leo 贸 谩it ar bith ar domhan. Cluineann muid anocht 贸 bheirt de na sc茅alaithe sin: Aindrias de Staic agus Ceara Conway. T谩 comp谩ntas Aisling Gh茅ar ar an bh贸thar ar铆s, lena dhr谩ma mar gheall ar Ghaeltacht Bh贸thar Seoighe, Is Ioma铆 Rud a Tharla, 谩 thabhairt go hArd Mhacha. Agus fear eile at谩 s谩sta a bheith ar chamchuairt ar铆s n谩 Manch谩n Magan, a bheidh i mbun se贸 s鈥檃ige, Ar谩n agus Im, ina mb谩c谩lann s茅 ar谩n taos g茅ar, agus l茅argas ar iontais na Gaeilge 谩 thabhairt aige. T谩 s茅 anseo le labhairt air sin agus ar an leabhar 煤r do ph谩ist铆 a bheidh 谩 fhoilsi煤 aige gan mhoill: Tree Dogs, Banshee Fingers and Other Irish Words for Nature.

In 1988, Clare County Council founded the groundbreaking scheme Dial A Seancha铆 and this October they will return to that concept with a brand new collection of six storytellers and singers, whom you can listen to on a phone line from anywhere in the world. We hear tonight from two of them: Aindrias de Staic and Ceara Conway. Belfast鈥檚 Aisling Gh茅ar theatre company is on the road again with the play, Is Ioma铆 Rud a Tharla, written about the B贸thar Seoighe Gaeltacht. And another man who is happy to be on tour again is Manch谩n Magan who鈥檒l be performing his show, Ar谩n agus Im, in which he bakes sourdough bread while telling us about the wonders of the Irish language. He鈥檚 with us to chat about that and his soon-to-be-published new book: Tree Dogs, Banshee Fingers and Other Irish Words for Nature.
