Bus Cuts, Scam Line and HGV Driver

A day in the life of a HGV driver and a new scam line to help sort the genuine text or call from the criminal.

It is not only deliveries that are being hit by a driver shortage local buses are too. The industry says it is 4000 drivers short and around the country timetables are changing and services and routes lost.

When the charge for plastic bags was introduced in supermarkets and larger shops , the number used dropped dramatically as shoppers were happy to re-use their bags but now the numbers buying plastic shopping bags, especially the Bags for Life, is on the rise. How do you make going green in instances like this a habit?

Four out of ten private renters who took part in research for the housing charity Shelter, said they'd been on the receiving end of unlawful behaviour by a landlord or letting agent. The most common problem was landlords and agents coming into people's homes without permission. But one in five had had problems with essential services and safety. One in ten reported being assaulted, threatened or harassed.
Shelter says that tenants reporting problems risk eviction.

We hear from an HGV driver who recorded his day at work last week. It is insight into a job that's seen many thousands quitting and that's led to the supply chain crisis and petrol shortages.
