Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad talk about never giving up with the celebrated 'Girl, Woman, Other' writer and Booker Prize winner Bernadine Evaristo MBE.

Bernadine won the feted prize for literature aged 60, the first time a Black woman had received the honour. Three decades earlier she'd written a note to herself, declaring she would one day win it. At the start of this year's Black History Month, this change-maker tells Kate and Jason about her work ethic, the challenges she has overcome and where she finds her positivity, as discussed in her new book 'Manifesto: On Never Giving Up'
