The Real Thing have just released an incredible seven-CD box set titled ‘The Anthology 1972-1997’ containing 109 tracks that cover their entire career, with remixes, unseen photos and all the hits including that evergreen no.1 from 45 years ago. Chris chats with Johnnie about their early days in the group leading up to that massive record, and we’ll dig out a real rarity from the archives - it’s Chris Amoo’s original version of ‘Forever Autumn’, later made famous by Justin Hayward on the enormously successful 'Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds' concept album.

Also on the show, Dolly Parton and Leo Sayer feature in amongst the stories that grabbed our eye from This Week In Music during the decade.

Johnnie’s Jukebox adds another great record to the ever-expanding contents, this time from 1973 when it was a big Northern Soul favourite.

And our One Of A Kind track takes us back to ’72 for a single that stuck behind Alice Cooper at the top of the the chart that Summer.
