Jamie has a session this week from the multi-Grammy Award winning US vocalist Kurt Elling.
One of the most successful singers of his generation, Kurt has been at the top of his game for nearly 30 years鈥攋ourneying from the jazz clubs of his native chicago, to releasing a string of albums on Blue Note, consistently winning awards and recording with leading contemporary musicians like Brad Mehldau and Branford Marsalis.
Kurt鈥檚 new album SuperBlue, is a collaborative effort with the guitarist Charlie Hunter, and two members of the jazz band Butcher Brown, Corey Fonville and DJ Harrison鈥攁ll of whom appear on this session recorded recently in London. The band play versions of recent singles Sassy and Manic Panic Epiphanic exclusively for the show.
