Jamie’s guest this week is the actor and comedian Bill Murray.

A regular fixture on screens around the world for over 40 years, Bill started off on Saturday Night Live before appearing in classic films like Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. He’s also had a long-running association with the director Wes Anderson, appearing in 9 of his films to date. Their new movie together is The French Dispatch, where Bill plays the editor of a New Yorker style magazine based in a fictional French city—sending out his team of eccentric writers to capture stories.

Throughout his career, Bill Murray has never been far from a song—whether singing jazzy festive classics in his Christmas special, karaoke in Lost In Translation or performing ‘The Bare Necessities’ as Baloo the bear in The Jungle Book.

Bill speaks to Jamie about working with Wes Anderson, performing on TV with Ray Charles and his lifelong love of singing, from his teenage rock band to playing Gershwin with a string ensemble
