Brian Cox chats to Zoe about his new autobiography, David Baddiel discusses his latest children's book and Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin have all the latest Strictly gossip.

Actor Brian Cox chats to Zoe about his autobiography, Putting the Rabbit in the Hat. From Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter to media magnate Logan Roy in HBO's Succession, Brian Cox has made his name as an actor of unparalleled distinction and versatility. Born in Dundee, he has enjoyed a formidably prolific career in theatre, film and television. He has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company, he was the first Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter and he is also famous for his roles in, amongst others, Sharpe, Rob Roy, Braveheart, The Bourne Identity, Red and Churchill.

David Baddiel discusses his new children's book, The Boy Who Got Accidentally Famous. In the book we meet the unremarkable Billy Smith, who becomes an overnight sensation when his class presentation goes viral. With his friends Bo and Rinor by his side, his life turns into a whirlwind of red carpets, TV shows, albums and even the possibility of meeting Sunshine De Marto 鈥� the coolest girl on the planet. But as everyone knows, fame comes with a price! Since becoming a children's author in 2013, David has become one of the UK鈥檚 bestselling authors. He created and presented 鈥� with Frank Skinner 鈥� Fantasy Football and Baddiel & Skinner Unplanned, attaining three number one hits alongside The Lightning Seeds with the football anthem Three Lions.

Also, Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin look back on another weekend of drama from the Strictly dancefloor. At just 19 years old, Tilly is this year's youngest competitor. She's no stranger to a bit of spotlight, having presented her very own C大象传媒 cooking show Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch alongside her dad and renowned chef Gordon Ramsay, her mum Tana and five siblings. The show ran for five series and was nominated for three Children's BAFTAs, leading Tilly to release her own cookbook in 2017.

And Zoe plays three disco classics from her personal collection in the Disco Ball at 8.30!

Pause For Thought

There is something wonderful about seeing the beauty of our world through the eyes of children. Recently I have loved watching my foster son gasp with joy as he bursts conkers out of their prickly shells or seeing my foster daughter twirl in wonder as sycamore seeds helicopter their way to the earth around her.听听They both have learning difficulties, but their appreciation of the nature they find around them is exceptional. Today I am in Glasgow where world leaders are gathered for the UN climate summit COP 26. I鈥檓 hoping they have ambitious plans that will protect our incredible world. Perhaps it would help if they were to take a walk through the woods with my children.

听

It is not just my children who could help them. I have met some Syrian children in refugee camps in Lebanon who could tell them what it鈥檚 like to be displaced because of a war sparked by a terrible drought.听听I have talked with children in Haiti made homeless by devastating earthquakes. I have sat with families in Burkina Faso whose crops won鈥檛 grow because the temperature too often reaches 50 degrees. I have discussed with Afghan refugees in our country their fears for the ten million children facing catastrophic famine back home. My Christian faith tells me every single one of these children was 鈥渒nit together鈥� in their mother鈥檚 wombs and are 鈥渇earfully and wonderfully made鈥� by God. I believe we owe it not just to the children but to the God who made them to make sure our planet is a safe place for each of them to grow up.听

I am sure that this week many terrible statistics will be discussed. The 4 billion gallons of oil we use each day; the 51 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases we produce each year, the 20 year timeframe that is so critical to stop the temperature of our planet increasing even more. But alongside the statistics, our world leaders need to reflect on what our children are telling us. This is why I am in Glasgow this week 鈥� speeding across town to fringe events on a rusty fold-up bicycle to tell anyone who will listen what the world looks like through our children鈥檚 eyes.听
