Paddy O'Connell presents highlights from the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance

Paddy O'Connell presents highlights from the Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance which pays tribute to the armed forces and remembers all victims of war and conflict.

Paddy O'Connell presents highlights from the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall, with spectacular music from star acts and massed military bands. In the year that marks the Centenary of the Royal British Legion, as well as the poppy, this act of remembrance pays tribute to the armed forces and remembers all victims of war and conflict, through music, poetry, performance and reflection.

Veterans, Military service personnel, representatives of the Civilian Services and those who have lost loved ones, come together and join with the audience at the Royal Albert Hall to give thanks and pay tribute to all who gave their lives in the service of their country, and who continue to risk their lives today. The Royal British Legion is bringing people together to tell their story of the last 100 years, whilst focusing on the importance of remembering the service, sacrifice and collaboration of the men and women of Britain, the Commonwealth and Allied nations who fought together and worked together.

Guests from music, television and military worlds tell Paddy of the special honour it is to be involved in this annual event. The conclusion of the Festival features the service of Remembrance, during which thousands of poppies are dropped from the roof of the hall, representing the lives lost in both World Wars and subsequent conflicts.

Musical performances from: Gregory Porter, Cynthia Erivo, Alfie Boe, Alexandra Burke and Ramin Karimloo.
