Dr Rangan Chatterjee sits in and talks to the best-selling children's author Julia Donaldson about her new book, The Christmas Pine.

Dr Rangan Chatterjee sits in and meets an illustrator and a best-selling author trying to help us all make sense of the world.

James Norbury, a Samaritan volunteer, self-published a collection of drawings featuring a panda and a dragon, and proverbs inspired by Buddhist spirituality. Now picked up by one of our biggest publishers, James tells Rangan how his volunteering inspired his drawing, the challenges he's faced in his own life and what he wants readers to takes from Big Panda and Tiny Dragon.

He could pick up some tips from one of our biggest-selling authors; former Children's Laureate, actor, singer-songwriter and all-round children's hero, Julia Donaldson. She tells Rangan about her new book 'The Christmas Pine' which tells the story of the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree through poetry. Plus how she writes those now familiar rhymes, what Christmas Day animated adaptation we can look forward to this Christmas, and where the next great story might come from.
