City life is for work but it’s at the weekend that we make memories. This is adventurer Ramsay MacMahon’s philosophy.
This weekend Ramsay escapes the big smoke for the north of Mull. He drives a stretch of hairpin bends which form part of the Mull Rally. The event was the first in the UK granted permission to close public roads, by an Act of Parliament.
Then it’s to colourful Tobermory where he helps out on a family-run dairy farm. He milks a cow for the first time in his life and finds out about the family business producing Hebridean cheeses.
The next day it’s further north and west across the Sound of Mull on the ferry to Ardnamurchan. Ramsay makes a pit stop at the community-run garden for honesty box veg before visiting the lighthouse at Britain’s most westerly point on the mainland.
