New Generation Artists Winter Showcase: the Mithras Trio, the mezzo-soprano Helen Charlston and the collaborative pianist Kunal Lahiry make their debuts at the 大象传媒 Studios in music by Schubert, Brahms and Clara Schumann. And James Newby, who leaves Radio 3's young artist scheme at the end of the year, bids farewell with a memorable performance of Robert Schumann's romantic Dichterliebe. Plus music from jazz guitarist Rob Luft.

Established two decades ago, Radio 3's New Generation Artists scheme is acknowledged internationally as the foremost programme of its kind. It exists to offer a platform for artists at the beginning of their international careers; each year six musicians join the scheme for two years, during which time they appear at the UK's major music festivals and venues, enjoy dates with the 大象传媒 orchestras and have the opportunity to record in the 大象传媒 studios. Not surprisingly, the list of alumni reads like a Who鈥檚 Who of the most exciting musicians of the past two decades.
