Aimee Campbell-Nottage meets Samantha Pearsall, who takes her on a tour of the Isle of Wight where she samples local cuisine, history and culture.
With travel restrictions due to Covid-19, Aimee Campbell-Nottage shows us how a staycation can be just as fun as a holiday abroad.
She travels to the Isle of Wight to meet Samantha Pearsall. Samantha was born in Middlesbrough but moved to the Isle of Wight for work for a few years and fell in love with the island. She has travelled back to show Aimee all the Isle's sights and wonders.
They visit the iconic Needles, sample delicacies at the Isle of Wight Garlic Farm, learn the history of Ryde Pier, take an RIB tour around the island to see it from another perspective, have fun at Blackgang Chine - the UK鈥檚 oldest amusement park - and discover dinosaur fossils at Compton Bay.
Aimee and Samantha wrap up their tour at Osborne House, Queen Victoria鈥檚 favourite holiday home. They learn how Prince Albert built Swiss Cottage for his children to teach them how to be independent and self-sufficient, and they explore the house's beautiful rooms and gardens.
