All this week we're celebrating Independent Venue Week with a series of special shows by shining a light on a different venue each day and discussing the role independent venues play in their community and the challenges they've faced over the past few years.

Today, Steve shines a spotlight on PJ Molloys in Dunfermline. He鈥檒l speak to Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand, who will perform a track live from the venue, before they take to the PJ Molloys stage for a special show for 6 Music that evening. Steve also welcomes frontman of The Skids, Richard Jobson to the show, to give listeners his memories of growing up in Dunfermline. Plus, 大象传媒 Scotland's Vic Galloway gives us musical tour of Dunfermline and Steve will revisit tracks from some of the very best Independent Venue Week gigs that have been broadcast on 6 Music in previous years.

Steve says: 鈥淚ndependent Venue Week has always played a vital role in helping grassroots venues at a financially perilous time of year. But this time round, it鈥檚 even more important to help support the live music circuit after it鈥檚 been hit so hard by COVID. It's a chance for us all to rally round and celebrate just how important these places are to emerging artists and alternative performers. We鈥檝e lined up some of our favourite new and established acts for a week of gigs in small grassroots venues around the country and we鈥檒l be talking to promoters and fans about why live gigs remain so important to the music community.鈥�
