Tears For Fears - chart-topping rock band - perform live at Maida Vale for Radio 2's Piano Room Month accompanied by the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra. The band was formed in 1981 by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith and is the 16th out of 20 acts to join the station's biggest celebration of live music in a decade. Other artists still to come this month include Emeli Sande, Jamie Cullum and Ed Sheeran.

Tears For Fears' debut album, 1983's The Hurting, reached number one in the UK and produced three international hit singles - 'Mad World', 'Change' and 'Pale Shelter'. They enjoyed further success before they split in 1991, and Curt went on to collaborate with several other artists and producers before Tears For Fears reformed in 2004.

However it's only now - seventeen years later - Curt and Roland have finally got round to making their follow-up album 'The Tipping Point'. The title track was heavily playlisted on Radio 2, and the album is described as "one that vividly recalls the depth and emotional force of the group鈥檚 earliest triumphs." Their latest single off the album is 'Break The Man' co-written by Curt Smith and Charlton Pettus.

The iconic duo recently announced 'The Tipping Point World Tour', which starts in the US in May moving to the UK in July with support from Alison Moyet.

Radio 2 delivered live music to listeners throughout the lockdown with House Music sessions - launched in 2020 - featuring some of the biggest names in music, including Rag N Bone Man, Barry Manilow, Melanie C, Cliff Richard, Ronan Keating, Travis, Aloe Blacc and Nell Bryden, with many accompanied remotely by the 大象传媒 Concert Orchestra.
