'The Number Of The Beast' turns 40!

Happy Birthday to Iron Maiden's 'Number Of The Beast' - the classic album turns 40 this week! Plus Kathy Valentine from The Go-Go's picks her rock goddess.

In 1982, singer Bruce Dickinson made the leap from Samson to Iron Maiden. Little did he know, he'd become part of one of Britain's most successful heavy metal exports...and he'd still be performing with them 40 years later. In 1982, he made his debut on their first Number 1 album, 'The Number Of The Beast' - we'll hear from Bruce courtesy of the 大象传媒 Archive for Johnnie's 'This Week In Rock'.
Elsewhere, bassist Kathy Valentine is choosing her Rock Goddess. Kathy joined The Go-Go's in the late 70s and enjoyed a rollercoaster ride with the LA pop-punk rockers. She's written a book about her experiences and The Go-Go's are back together, they'll be here on tour in the UK with Billy Idol in June.
Her rock inspiration is a brilliant one - and its someone who's been on the show already, choosing their OWN rock god!
