Marc Jacobs: Living fearlessly and unapologetically
Marc Jacobs shares how he put aside the shame that he felt for many years and re-wrote the rules to become one of the world’s most influential fashion designers.
The iconic Michelle Visage sits down for a one-to-one encounter with one of her favourite rule breakers, Marc Jacobs.
One of the world's most influential fashion designers, Marc first made his name with his ‘Grunge’ collection aged just 29 while working for Perry Ellis - credited with launching the grunge look of the 1990s - before turning his own brand into a household name.
But, behind all the Marc Jacobs designs we see there’s a deeper story. The story of a multi-layered person who has always created their own path and done things their way - from experimenting with his style as a 9-year-old embroidering his jeans, regardless of what was said about him, to truly owning his past decisions.
Marc tells Michelle how he's used the shame he felt for many years to fuel him and propel him to where he wants to be, living a fearless, honest and unapologetic life by his own rules.
