Seven Last Words from the Cross

The 大象传媒 Singers and their chief conductor, Sofi Jeannin, join forces with Aurora Orchestra for a performance of Sir James MacMillan's Seven Last Words from the Cross.

Chief Conductor of the 大象传媒 Singers Sofi Jeannin makes her debut at Kings Place, conducting a programme that also features works by two of north America鈥檚 most distinctive musical voices: Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw (best known for her work with鈥痑 cappella鈥痝roup Roomful of Teeth) and Californian composer Reena Esmail, whose work combines Western and Indian classical influences. Timothy Burke鈥檚 intimate arrangement of Ralph Vaughan Williams鈥檚鈥疐antasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis鈥痑nd James MacMillan's Seven Last Words from the Cross completes what promises to be a highlight of Kings Place鈥檚 year-long Voices Unwrapped series.
