From Louis Armstrong to Gigli. Radio and jazz legend Humphrey shares his castaway choices with Kirsty Young.

Humphrey Lyttelton described himself as ‘blessed’ for having two careers: as a jazz trumpeter and band leader, and then as a highly popular radio host, including I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue between 1972 and 2007.

Humphrey’s favourite among the tracks he selected is ‘That’s My Home’ by Louis Armstrong. His book choice is the Collected Works of James Thurber and his luxury item is a harmonium, in order to master playing a keyboard instrument.
