Johnnie chats to 'The Queen of British Soul', Beverley Knight, about her 70's music memories, heroes, heroines and her current role in the West End musical, 'The Drifters Girl'.
Beverley has been singing almost since she learned to walk. Growing up with gospel, she branched out into the pop world and released her first album in 1995.
Since then, she's enjoyed an incredible career, releasing eight solo studio albums and one live album, receiving nominations for Brit Awards, Mobo Awards and the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. She was awarded the MBE in 2006 and has also presented successful TV and radio shows, including 'Beverley's Gospel Nights' for Radio 2.
In her career as an actor, she's been nominated twice for an Olivier Award for her work in musical theatre, including one for her current role as Faye Treadwell in 'The Drifters Girl'.
Elsewhere on the show, Johnnie picks another track nominated by a listener for his virtual Jukebox, plus we hear another 'One Of A Kind' chosen by you and this week's 'BTO' - 'Better Than (the) Original'!
Also expect Johnnie's usual mix of incredible music choices plus your dedications, stories and a round up of 'This Week In Music'.
