Good Morning

I鈥檝e been single for a long time! In fact, I am so single I鈥檝e even written a book about it鈥�

I just think that people of faith sometimes don鈥檛 talk about matters of the heart and I get that it鈥檚 a personal choice. I don鈥檛 mind talking about it especially since people tend to be quite curious about my marital status anyway! They tend to enquire if I鈥檝e had an arranged marriage or love marriage.

If I do find 鈥榯he one鈥�, it would definitely be a love marriage for me.

The dating scene has always been a challenge, particularly as I wear a headscarf. So many rules on what I can and can鈥檛 do. It鈥檚 felt like a place I do not belong.

Despite this I still believe that everyone is meant to have a companion, and although at this hour the man of my dreams is probably still fast asleep, I pray to God to help me find the partner I have been waiting for, for He is the best of providers.

Someone who understands me, loves me, forgives me, betters me. A man who sustains me, cherishes me, misses me and who is faithful to me.

A friend of mine said to me it鈥檚 all in the timing, and so until that day comes I recite this prayer so our Lord may help everyone looking for a partner. Surah Yaseen verse 36:36. 鈥淕lory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge鈥�.
