Music, chat and Belle and Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch
Belle and Sebastian’s frontman Stuart Murdoch joins Mark and Stuart to share his 'First, Last and Everything' and chat about their new album ‘A Bit of Previous’.
Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast.
Today, Belle and Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch joins Mark and Stuart to share his 'First, Last and Everything' - that’s the first record he owned, the most recent one he’s enjoyed and the record that means ‘everything’ to him. He also talks about the band’s new album ‘A Bit of Previous’, which came out in May.
Belle and Sebastian formed in Glasgow in 1994 and released their debut album ‘Tigermilk’ in 1996. Their critically acclaimed follow-up ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister’ was released later that same year and resulted in a cult-like fan following. ‘A Bit of Previous’ is their 10th studio album and follows their 2019 original film soundtrack ‘Days of the Bagnold Summer’.
Also on the show... long-running feature ‘The Chain’, which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8000 songs.
With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started.
