Celebrating Ziggy Stardust with guest Woody Woodmansey

Mark celebrates the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust album and talks to drummer Woody Woodmansey about working on the record and being in the ‘Spiders from Mars’.

Today Mark celebrates the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s seminal album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.’ He is joined by drummer Woody Woodmansey, who worked on the album and was part of Bowie’s backing band ‘the Spiders From Mars.’ They play a selection of tracks and discuss the making of the album and the impact it had on the musical landscape then and now.

Released on 16th June 1972, Ziggy Stardust became Bowie’s ‘breakthrough album’, bringing him to the attention of a generation. It remains Mark’s own favourite album of all time.
