Partnering with schools, local authorities and communities, we look beyond the classroom and work holistically with the whole family to understand and tackle the complex issues that can affect children鈥檚 learning. We know that working with the whole family is the most effective way to get children into school, ready to learn.

By supporting the whole family, School-Home Support can build a bridge between home and school and start to unpick the barriers that get in the way of聽 good school attendance. Through our family support model, we are getting children back into school, ready to learn, and building stronger families for the future.

Matthew鈥檚 Story
Matthew鈥檚 mother is disabled by severe back pain, and he has been her carer since his dad died of Covid last year. Pressure and grief聽 at home made learning difficult, and Matthew (whose story you hear in the appeal) was attending school less than a day a week. Our practitioner Jaime helped the whole family get back on their feet. Matthew鈥檚 attendance has greatly improved.

How you can help
On average it costs 拢1,000 to provide direct support to a family for six months. By donating 拢40, you can fund a week鈥檚 worth of tailored family support. Children with serious challenges at home don鈥檛 go into the classroom on a level playing field with their peers. Your support will directly help vulnerable children to access the education they deserve. Please donate today.
