George Ezra - BRIT-winning, Platinum Jubilee-performing superstar - chooses the Tracks of My Years all this week with Ken.
George is back with his third album ‘Goldrush Kid’, which has already produced the hit singles ‘Anything For You’ and ‘Green Green Grass,’ as well as acclaimed new song ‘I Went Hunting’.
George first rose to widespread fame with the success of the single‘ Budapest’ in 2014, and his third album comes on the back of two previous blockbusters – Wanted On Voyage (2014) and Staying At Tamara’s (2018). Both albums reached number one in the UK and sold millions around the world. His huge hit ‘Shotgun’ earned him his first number one single in 2018 and won him the 2019 Brit Award for British Male Solo Artist.
George’s success has seen him appear on American variety shows ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, as well as reading the children's book ‘Here Comes The Sun’ on Bedtime Hour on CBeebies. His recent appearances include the Platinum Party at the Palace in June, celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, and on Saturday 16th July he performs his biggest headline show to date at London’s Finsbury Park .
This September and October George will be heading out on a full nationwide UK arena tour, beginning in Liverpool on 13 September and taking in 11 shows.
The first two tracks George has chosen come from Eels and Bob Dylan.
Ken also has the daily love song, record and album of the week plus another round of PopMaster. To contact the show email ken.bruce@bbc.co.uk.
