大象传媒 Proms 2022

A glorious mash-up of music from the 大象传媒 Proms 2022.

This year's Proms Season sees all of the 大象传媒's Performing Groups championing female composers such as Doreen Carwithen and Grace Williams. Highlights from the season also include a visit from the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin and a performance from Benjamin Grosvenor with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marin Alsop. Here he plays Chopin's Piano Concerto, and this concerto is performed at the highly anticipated Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra Prom.

There is Proms outside of London, highlights include Alina Ibragimova and Cedric Tiberghien in Bristol and they're not only on in the evening either. Join sarod master, Amjad Ali Khan for a Sunday morning performance.

We hear an excerpt from Aretha Franklin's version of Young, Gifted and Black - a tribute Prom this year celebrates 50 years since the release of the album.
